Workshop Entitled(Scientific Plagiarism: Causes and Methods of Avoidance)

Prof. Dr. (Dr. Ali Abdulkhaleq A. Ali ) – Head of the Optoelectronics Engineering Branch, held a workshop entitled (scientific theft: its causes and ways to avoid it) on Wednesday 27/3/2024 in the department hall, where scientific theft is considered one of the most important obstacles to the development of scientific research and negatively affects the academic level of universities and the country in general. Scientific theft is the process of transferring ideas, research results or knowledge sources from one source to another without permission and appreciation of the original source, and also includes repeating ideas or research results without reference to the original source.Scientific theft has serious consequences at the academic and personal level and can lead to a loss of confidence in the thieving researcher and may damage the credibility of previous research from which ideas and data were stolen, in addition to that, scientific theft can affect the career of the original researcher and the subsequent research he carries out. The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members in the department.
