Master’s Student Discussion

The Department of Laser and Optoelectronics  Engineering awarded a master’s degree to a student (Mohammed Hamza Ghazi) majoring in laser engineering for his thesis entitled:
(Design of  multi-wavelength laser for optical communication based on optical modulator)
On Thursday, 2/9/2024, the research resulted in the generation of more than 125 equidistant light carriers by embedding a continuous laser source using a low-power radio frequency (RF) source. The results resulted in the generation of 125 very flat, equidistant light carriers with an interval of 10 GHz and a total bandwidth of 10.3 nm (1.24 Terahertz) and the lowest average power fluctuation of (0.8 dB) was achieved without requiring any additional optimization.
The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Jassim Kadim Hmood as chairman and members of Prof. Dr. Abdulla Khudiar Abass (member and supervisor), Prof. Dr. Atheer Alaa Sabri and Prof. Dr. Thamer Fahad Ahmed.
